Compassionate care. Individualized support. Meaningful connection.
I’m David Robertson, a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with 18 years of nursing experience and a passion for helping individuals navigate the challenges of mental health.
Originally from Texas, I recently moved to Nebraska with a desire to serve individuals and families in the local community. My nursing career has included experience in surgical services and psychiatric nursing, along with years of working with children and adolescents with learning differences at a summer camp. These experiences have shaped the way I approach mental health care: by taking the time to understand the whole person, recognizing individual strengths, and creating a supportive environment where people feel heard and respected.
My interest in psychiatry grew through my work with young people who experienced a wide range of learning, behavioral, and emotional needs. I saw firsthand how deeply mental health can affect individuals and families, and how important compassionate, accessible care can be. These experiences ultimately inspired me to pursue advanced training as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner.
Education & Experience
My educational background includes a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Texas Woman’s University, a Master of Science in Nursing with a focus in Nursing Education from The University of Texas at Tyler, an MBA in Business Analytics from Texas Woman’s University, and a postgraduate certificate in Psychiatric-Mental Health Nursing from Chamberlain University.
I believe effective mental health care begins with a strong therapeutic relationship. My goal is to create a space where individuals and families feel comfortable sharing their experiences, asking questions, and actively participating in their care. I strive to provide care that is respectful, approachable, evidence-informed, and centered on each person’s unique needs and goals.
Since moving to Nebraska, I’ve enjoyed getting to know the community, meeting the people who call it home, and discovering all that the area has to offer. I’m grateful for the opportunity to build meaningful relationships with the individuals and families I serve and to be part of their journey toward greater well-being.
Outside of my professional life, I enjoy baking, scuba diving, and plenty of laughter. I believe that connecting with others, finding joy in everyday life, and maintaining a sense of humor are important parts of being human. I bring that same warmth, curiosity, and genuine care to the people I serve.
